Hello to my amazing fabulous and motivating moms out there! We have been friends for some time now, but I must say we haven’t been that straightforward and honest with one another. Some of us, my self-included, have allowed Mommydum to take over and well, ladies, we’ve been letting ourselves go a bit.
Speaking for my self, I had realized I had full on lost who I was. I went from fab where did you get that sweater and I absolutely love your hair to the, Oh here let me help you because you clearly look like you need help.
I am over it. As a mom, I don’t want to look tired even though I am completely and utterly exhausted. I want my sweat to glisten with my two-face highlight not just look a hot sweaty mess with an oh no mom glow. I’m not even talking about sweating from the gym either, we are talking day to day toddler chase over here.
I am not saying we need to look perfect. I am saying that we need to have more self-care and self-love. If we do not demand an extra 10 min in the morning to throw on some eyeliner and throw up a cute messy bun or an extra 15min to finally use that sugar scrub that smelled so good in the store that we brought it home and shoved it in the back of our bathroom cabinet then what good are we going to be to our family and our career. If we can’t live by example we are just straight up faking it.
So I am taking the first step ladies and from now until the end of the year we are celebrating beautiful MOMents. We will be partnering up with different companies for tips and tricks on how moms stay slick. As well as giveaways for some amazing little things. We are promoting different brands and highlighting different services that can help you quickly regather the fly woman you were before the kids.
I’ve already started for myself and I got stopped in the store and received a compliment on my hair and style. I can honestly say it wasn’t something I recall receiving in a while. Let’s get it mommas and show them (whoever they are) and ourselves that we didn’t forget and we are still the baddest and sexiest in the land even with a little throw up on our shirt.
Stay tuned for the amazing companies and tastemakers that Moms In The Industry will be highlighting until the end of the year. If you don’t already please follow us on Instagram, by clicking our IG handle —-> @momsintheindustry
Cheers to us this holiday season they won’t know what hit them.
