Crew it has been a while since I have touched based with you. Trust me it has been an eventful couple of weeks for me as it has for all of you I'm sure. My oh my when we picked this month's mantra of "FEARLESS" we surely didn't know how fearless we would have to be. I wanted to talk to you about the importance of a baby moon, but after an unplanned sequence of events this topic seems so much more fitting for the moment.
For all of the mamas out there who are ready to celebrate their bumps do so without taking heed to the criticism. Ignore the comments of you are so big or why are you showing your stomach when it looks like that or one of my favorite comments, sarcastically speaking of course, save that type of photo for the bedroom.
We get it everyone says to make time for yourself, have self-love, be selfish every once in a while, but all of these wonderful ideas can leave a mom going after dreams and ultimately at the end of her rope feel a little like Kanye in a Sway interview :
... ladies, we've been letting ourselves go a bit.
I am over it. As a mom, I don't want to look tired even though I am completely and utterly exhausted. I want my sweat to glisten with my two-face highlight not just look a hot sweaty mess with an oh no mom glow. I'm not even talking about sweating from the gym either, we are talking day to day toddler chase over here.
How do you do it? I don't think I could ever be with someone who has a kid. You don't know what its like to really be a mom. Oh, wait I forgot you have two kids, well you know what I mean. Oh, you didn't actually birth that child, but you will know what I mean when you get your own. Your not my mother. My mom doesn't like you. Your overreacting, my kid loves you.
It is unfortunate that I have heard one if not all of these statements at some point in my care for my bonus child. The good, bad, and ugly have come out in parenting and giving the love needed to the child that I agreed to help raise. From extreme dealings with the birth mom and her family to arguments on the way he should be raised within my own family a lot of prayers and yes therapy was needed. Having your own child then turns things upside down mentally for everyone and add our industry into the mix and you can create the perfect storm to a volcanic blow-up. But check this out!
There are so many kid-friendly places to see in LA, but where do you begin? Well this summer we did the location scouting for you Here are 10 places that we hope you love. We even kept in mind the Moms in The Industry budget when crafting this list. We hope it helps your cabin fever just a bit.
We at Moms In The Industry know how hard it can be to eat healthy when you are on set and faced with the crack bacon from craft services or when you are simply on the go grabbing pastries from Starbucks.
